Placeholder terms for development — this has not been reviewed by a lawyer and must not be relied on as real terms of service. Horse riding carries real risk of injury; the liability and insurance sections here are drafts, not legal advice, and need proper review before real people rely on them.

1. What Spare Rein is

Spare Rein is a platform that connects horse owners with riders who'd like to ride and help care for a horse regularly. We introduce people to each other and provide tools to agree on rides — we are not a party to any arrangement made between an owner and a rider, and we do not supervise, insure, or guarantee any ride.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate information when you sign up, including a valid form of ID for verification. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or transferred.

3. Risk and responsibility

Riding, handling, and being around horses carries an inherent risk of injury, regardless of experience level or the horse's temperament. By using Spare Rein, riders and owners each acknowledge and accept that risk for themselves. Arranging appropriate insurance for any ride is the responsibility of the owner and rider involved, not Spare Rein.

4. What we expect from you

  • Be honest — about your experience, your horse, and your intentions.
  • Treat every horse and every person you meet through Spare Rein with care.
  • Only agree to rides you intend to keep, and show up when you say you will.
  • Tell us if something goes wrong, rather than letting it happen again.

5. Suspension and removal

We may suspend or remove an account that misrepresents itself, puts a horse or a person at risk, or otherwise breaks these terms. Placeholder — the exact process and appeal rights need defining.

6. Liability

Placeholder — a proper limitation-of-liability clause, reviewed for Swiss law, needs to go here before this is real.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be communicated before they take effect.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Placeholder — jurisdiction and dispute-resolution details need confirming.
